How to choose channels for AI commenting in Telegram
Which channels suit commenting, why subscriber count is not the main thing, where to find channels and which to remove from the list right away.
The result of AI commenting depends more on where you comment than on how. A great prompt won't help in a channel where nobody reads the discussion, while an average comment in the lively chat of a niche channel will bring people to your profile. Let's look at which channels fit, where to find them and how not to waste an account on useless ones.
Which channel suits commenting
A good channel for commenting meets five conditions:
- Your niche. Readers should be potentially interested in you. A comment about finance under a recipe post won't bring anyone, but it may get reported.
- Open comments. The channel has a discussion chat, and any subscriber can post in it.
- A lively discussion. People actually comment under posts. If the comments are empty, nobody will see yours either.
- Regular posts. No new posts — no new comments. Channels that post once a week give little.
- Free comments. Telegram has channels where a message in the discussion costs Stars. Such channels don't suit AI commenting.
Big channel or small
Subscriber count is not the main metric. What matters more is how many people read the discussion:
- A big channel without discussion gives little: the comment gets lost or nobody opens it.
- A big channel with a very active chat — the comment quickly sinks under hundreds of others.
- A medium or small channel with a lively chat often works best: the comment is visible and the readers are engaged.
The best list is usually mixed: a few large channels in your niche and more medium ones with an active discussion.
Where to find channels for commenting
- Telegram search. Enter your niche's keywords — Telegram will show public channels.
- Channel catalogues and analytics. Telegram catalogue services show the topic, size and activity of channels.
- Similar channels. Telegram itself suggests similar channels on a channel's page.
- Telegram folders. Authors collect themed sets of channels into folders with a `t.me/addlist/…` link — a ready-made list on a topic.
- Where your audience already is. Channels that you and your clients read.
Which channels to exclude: closed and paid comments, chat bans
Some channels only use up the account's attempts and give Telegram extra signals:
- the account is banned from the discussion chat — you can't post there any more;
- comments are closed to everyone or only to new members;
- paid comments — a message in the discussion costs Stars;
- the channel has been deleted or made private;
- the channel has no discussion chat at all.
Such channels shouldn't be "tried again" but removed from the list for good.
How many channels you need
There is no single number — it depends on how often the channels post and how many comments a day you are prepared to make from one account. Start with a small list of channels where you are sure of the topic and a lively discussion, look at the result and expand the list gradually. A hundred random channels are worse than twenty precise ones.
How to check the list before launch
- Open a few channels from the list and look at the discussion under the latest posts.
- Make sure the topic really matches yours, not just the channel name.
- Check that comments are open and free.
- Remove channels that haven't posted for a long time.
Channels in TG Comment
- Adding as a list or a folder. Channels can be pasted as a list — `@username` or `t.me/…` links — or added as a whole Telegram folder via a `t.me/addlist/…` link.
- Ban list. Channels where the account is banned from the discussion chat, where posting is forbidden or where comments are paid go to the ban list automatically and are no longer used in any project. You can add your own exclusions manually.
- Subscription audit. The service goes through all of an account's subscriptions and shows where it can comment and where it is useless: banned from the chat, comments closed or paid, channel deleted, no discussion chat or the chat must be joined first. Clearly useless channels are unsubscribed right away.
- Selection when joining. In the channel list you can select only new ones, only restricted ones or everything under a filter — and join, leave or delete them in one action.
