Prompt for AI comments: how to write it, with an example
What a prompt for natural AI comments consists of, what it must forbid, how long comments should be and how to test the prompt before launch.
A prompt is the instruction the AI follows when writing comments on behalf of your account. Almost everything depends on it: whether the comment gets noticed, whether people open your profile and whether they report it. A good prompt turns the AI into a person with something to say; a bad one turns it into a bot that writes "Interesting post!" under every publication.
What a good prompt consists of
A working prompt always has the same parts:
- Who is writing. The persona: gender, age, character, profession. A programmer's comment under a post about AI sounds different from a student's.
- Style and tone. Friendly, expert, ironic, calm. Formal or informal address. Whether to use emoji and how often.
- Topic and audience. What the channels are about and who reads them — beginners, pros, entrepreneurs.
- Goal of the comment. What the comment should do: support the author's point, add a fact, ask a question, share experience.
- What to avoid. Direct prohibitions: links, advertising, repeating the post, generic phrases.
- Length and format. One short sentence, two sentences or a word limit.
- Examples. Two or three comments you like — the AI will adapt to their manner.
Length: shorter looks more natural
Real people write briefly in discussion chats. One or two sentences look natural; a paragraph under a post looks suspicious. If in doubt, start with one short sentence of up to ten words and make it longer only if the comments turn out too empty.
What comments must not contain
The list of prohibitions in a prompt matters more than the list of wishes. Be sure to forbid:
- links and channel mentions — the number one cause of reports and spam blocks;
- advertising — direct offers to buy, subscribe, follow a link;
- retelling the post — "The author writes that…" gives the bot away at once;
- generic phrases — "Interesting", "Useful info", "Thanks for the post";
- addressing "the author" and thanking in every comment;
- arguments and provocations, unless it is a deliberate technique.
Techniques that make a comment feel alive
- A question at the end — invites conversation.
- Personal experience — "same thing happened to me, what helped was…".
- A mini tip — one practical thought on the post's topic.
- A fact or a number — only if the AI takes it from the post itself rather than making it up.
- Gentle disagreement — a comment with a different point of view gets noticed more than one that agrees.
- Light humour — if it fits the niche.
Don't include everything at once: two or three techniques per prompt are enough.
Example prompt for comments
Below is an example for personal finance channels. It shows the structure, not a ready-made text for any niche:
- Write as a man aged 30–35, an entrepreneur who knows his way around money and investing.
- Calm, friendly, informal tone, no emoji.
- Comment on the content of the post: add a practical thought or a short personal experience; sometimes end with a question.
- One or two sentences, no more than 25 words.
- Forbidden: links, channel mentions, advertising, retelling the post, generic phrases like "interesting" and "useful", addressing "the author".
How to test a prompt before launch
- Take 5–10 real posts from your channels.
- See what the AI writes under each of them with your prompt.
- Ask yourself: does this look like a comment from a real person? Would I want to report it?
- Fix whatever repeats — the same opening, the same words, excess length.
Run it on all channels only once you are happy with the comments on the test posts.
Prompts in TG Comment
In TG Comment you can write a prompt in your own words or assemble it in the constructor:
- The prompt constructor has eight fields: who is writing, style and tone, topic, goal, what to avoid, length and format, examples and additional instructions. For the persona, tone and topic there are ready-made options — gender, age, character, profession, mood, form of address, emoji frequency, techniques, niche and audience; a professional prompt is assembled from them.
- Length is set precisely: one short sentence of up to 10 words, a few sentences, a word or character limit — the service makes sure a comment stays within it.
- Presets — instead of AI text you can reply with ready-made phrases or emoji; starter sets are included.
- Your own AI key can be connected if you want to use your own AI account.
